Mountain Biking in CB on the Strand Hill Trail

Greg can still rip... and always with a smile

Me and Greg on the descent.

Chris patiently waiting for me to recover at 10,000 feet (gasp, pant)

Fun in the Aspens!

To the top

The kids loved being the leaders. The parents, at times, were not so wild about the idea...

Eli and Gus getting close... That's the valley, 4,000 feet below

Michela bags her first 12,000 foot summit

To the top of Mt. Crested Butte

First we take the chairlift as high as it goes...

The adventure team preps for the 1000' vertical ascent on the summit (fueled largely by PB&J sammies)

Crested Butte!

The kids made a beeline for the hot tub. Eli, Michela, Gus and Michael spent an hour in there...

Sally!

Then it was off to a dinner party to reconnect with lots of old CB friends... Remember Ian "It's a bit of a push" the Australian? Alive and well, professional mountain guide.

The whole gang. Barbie is in there, too.

Our Junior Rangers

You're probably sick of seeing all these pictures, but it is amazing -- every program teaches the kids (and us) a lot about each park.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

Our stir-fry the night before was interrupted by thunderstorms, so we were forced to have steak and eggs for breakfast. Tough duty. Your chef at work.

The Black Canyon. Awesome.

Yes, at times we all get tired on this trip.

Eli passed out near Ouray, Colorado

More Mesa Verde

The Ancient Puebloans (As they're now called, not Anasazi) definitely had narrower shoulders than me...

The ever-helpful signage found in national parks.

Michela descends into a Kiva

Eli and I went for a hike in the backcountry.

Mesa Verde National Park

Cliff dwellings form 1200 AD

Our adventurous tour of the Balcony House - entered only by clibing a 32' ladder on the side of a cliff that dropped 500' below you (Elim and Michela went first, following the ranger)

Inside Balcony House. As many as 50 people lived here.

The 12' tunnel you had to crawl through to get out...
